Group Picture at Brett and GladysThe web log, “Arise”, was created by an individual Baha’i to show connections between science and the Teachings of the Baha’i Faith, demonstrate the oneness of religion, and defend the Faith against accidental or purposeful misrepresentations. A plan is to periodically post thoughts regarding the connection of the Baha’i Faith with religious scripture of past ages and recent scientific research. A hope is to demonstrate that the Teachings of Baha’u'llah are relevant to the current state of humanity and that Baha’u'llah is the most recent Messenger of God. The Teachings of the Baha’i Faith constitute a beautiful set of beliefs, and an aim in posting to this blog will be to respond to and help clarify inaccuracies.

Above is an image of friends who met during the fall of 2006 and spring of 2007 at the home of Brett and Gladys in Cambridge, Massachusetts. My name is David Gray, and, during the past five years, I have studied Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. Applying knowledge of science and engineering to alleviate suffering and advance society is of most interest to me, and a source of motivation derives from the Baha’i Faith. The smiles on the faces of friends in the picture attest to the strengthening Baha’i community, and it has been a joy to see friendships form and devotion to the Cause of God deepen in Cambridge.

This web log does not represent any official position of any institution of the Baha’i Faith. Several sites listed under “blogroll” are informative resources to any one interested in learning more about the Teachings of Baha’u'llah.

“Let thy soul glow with the flame of this undying Fire that burneth in the midmost heart of the world, in such wise that the waters of the universe shall be powerless to cool down its ardor.”
